Advantage Healthcare client manager Caroline Healey has been awarded a diploma after enrolling on a leadership course to help her develop her career and to provide the best possible service to clients.
Caroline received her Team Leadership and Management in the Health and Social Care sector Level 5 Diploma from City and Guilds in conjunction with Advantage Learning & Employment – a top training provider of apprenticeships, adult learning and development programmes.
Caroline, from Rochdale, completed the year-long diploma while working full time at Advantage’s Yorkshire Healthcare hub.
The mum-of-one joined Advantage after taking a career break having previously worked as a healthcare assistant in a nursing home followed by several years in the recruitment sector.
Caroline said: “I love my job. I spend lots of time getting to know our clients so that I’m better able to match them with our excellent client care staff. I know it’s going well when I see our clients smile, that really makes my day.
“I worked hard on the diploma, fitting in study where I could. It was intense but very enjoyable. In particular it’s enhanced my knowledge and skills around safeguarding adults and children, motivating and managing teams and the importance of communication.”
Caroline is one of more than 700 employees at Advantage who enrol on apprenticeships each year.
She added: “The diploma has provided me with the skills I need to provide a better service to our clients. Working together as a team and motivating staff is so important in the healthcare sector. It’s also been a great boost to my confidence and to my career prospects.”
Advantage Healthcare Regional Director (North), Amy Gilbert said: “Investing in our staff and supporting them to achieve further learning equips them to deliver a better service to our customers.”
